News and Events

With deep sadness, Chester County Council mourns the passing of Council Member Mike Vaughn, who faithfully served the residents of District 2 since 2018.

Councilman Vaughn was a passionate advocate for Great Falls and Chester County, known for his commitment to nature-based tourism, community revitalization, and public service. He brought vision and heart to his role on County Council and was active in the South Carolina Association of Counties, where he completed Level II certification and was respected by colleagues across the state.

He was also the founder of a local kayaking business and a founding member of the Great Falls Heart and Soul community group, which he described as helping “make sure Great Falls changes in the ways its citizens desire.”

We extend our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.

Chester County is grateful for Councilman Vaughn’s leadership, dedication, and friendship. He will be dearly missed.

We are thrilled to announce that we are now transitioning to online booking for the Chester War Memorial Building and the Great Falls Memorial Building! 🏛️✨

You can now easily view the availability of your preferred building and submit an online form to book your event. 🎉
